This is a Lafuma recliner which has been in use at the School and which we have decided to replace with a new one. It is structurally sound, but having been with us for a couple of years has loosened sufficiently that the leg end comes up higher than we would normally recommend for a reflexology treatment, especially with somebody quite heavy in it.
So while this is perfectly fine for relaxing indoors or outdoors in, we would suggest it might not be suitable for a reflexologist.
Cosmetically, the canvas is very clean (it's spent its whole life covered up with one of our fleecy covers), but you should be aware that there are marks along the leg bars where we have lifted it into and out of its storage racks and they have scraped the paint off the racks (generally these recliners are so tough that they will win an argument with anything you bring them too carelessly into contact with!)
So here's a good opportunity to pick up a Lafuma in good condition for much cheaper than a new one. We would suggest that if you are interested, you let us know straight away, as there tends to be a queue for used Lafumas so they go quite quickly.
How long do they last? In 2003, we had a call from a gentleman in Oban, who needed some new laces as the ones on his recliner were beginning to fray. He had bought it in France in 1975. We can't promise yours will last as long, but we can promise that this one has plenty of life left in it!
